Does it work between a Mac and a Windows PC — or two of the same?
Both. Any combination works — Mac to Windows, two Windows PCs, two Macs, Linux to anything — and on a mixed Mac/PC desk you can switch on Cmd ⇄ Ctrl shortcut swapping so copy/paste muscle memory follows you between them. There's no cross-platform requirement.
