Privacy Policy

Effective 12 July 2026 · Realbrain Inc

EasySwitch is built to be private by design. This policy covers two separate things: the desktop app (which collects almost nothing) and this website (which handles the minimum needed to sell and recover licenses). Realbrain Inc is the data controller; contact us for anything below.

The desktop app

  • No accounts, no telemetry, no analytics. The app does not phone home, track usage, or send crash reports.
  • Your input and data stay on your network. Mouse and keyboard events, clipboard contents and transferred files travel directly between your machines, end-to-end encrypted (Noise Protocol). They never touch our servers. EasySwitch is not remote desktop and never mirrors a desktop. Extend doesn't capture the screen you're using — it creates a brand-new, empty display and streams only that, only while you have it switched on, encrypted, over your own network. Leave Extend off and nothing but input, clipboard and your files ever moves.
  • License activation is the only cloud call. When you add a license key, the app sends our server one request containing the license id, an app-generated random device identifier, and the app version — no hardware fingerprinting, no name, no email. We store that activation record to enforce the plan's device count. After that, the license verifies offline forever.
  • Update checks are user-initiated. Clicking "Check for updates" fetches a public version file; the request carries no identifiers beyond what any web request includes (your IP address). The app never checks automatically.
  • The web bridge is local. Files and text exchanged with a phone via the QR code travel over your own network between your devices — we never see them.

This website

  • Account data: if you buy a license we store your email address, a salted password hash (never the password), and your purchase and license records. That's what makes license recovery possible. When you create an account we also record the IP address you registered from and the approximate location it maps to (city-level, via a one-time geolocation lookup) — used only for fraud prevention and support, never shared or shown publicly.
  • Cookies: one essential session cookie after you sign in. No advertising or analytics cookies, no trackers, no third-party scripts.
  • Payments: checkout is operated by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle collects the billing details needed to process your order (name, email, payment method, country) under Paddle's privacy policy. We never see your full payment details.
  • Infrastructure: the site and license service run on Cloudflare, which may process IP addresses and request metadata for security and delivery (DDoS protection, caching) as our processor.
  • Email: we send transactional email only — your license key and recovery messages. No marketing lists.

Retention and your rights

We keep account and license records for as long as your license may need support or recovery, and purchase records as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data — deleting an account removes the email and credentials, while anonymized activation counts may be retained to keep already-issued licenses working. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data-protection rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar), those rights apply and we honor them; you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Children

The website and store are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will post the new version here with a new effective date. The app's no-telemetry design is a product invariant — a change to that would be a new product, not a policy edit.
